Ops365 ISP Platform: What's New in October 2026

A round-up of everything shipped this quarter — Newsroom, Social Media Flyers, the Partner API, push notifications for Android and browser, and the operator-branded PWA. Here's what changed and why.

It's been a busy quarter for the ISP / Cable Management platform. Here's a summary of everything shipped since July — new features, architectural changes, and the thinking behind each one.

📰 Newsroom 📤 Social Media Flyers 🔌 Partner API 🔔 Push Notifications 📱 Operator-Branded PWA 🗺️ Fiber Network Tracking

Newsroom on Both Sites

You're reading the first post on it. The company site at ops365.in/company/ now has its own Newsroom for product updates, engineering posts, and company news. The ISP product site at om.ops365.in/welcome/ has a parallel Newsroom for operator-facing guides.

Both are static HTML, no CMS, no build step — a git push publishes immediately. That's a deliberate choice: the simpler the publishing path, the more likely something actually gets written.

Social Media Flyers

Operators can now upload daily and festival promotional flyers — images their field employees download and post to their own WhatsApp Status. It's not automated (there's no WhatsApp Status API), but the platform tracks who downloaded and who shared, so operators can see which employees are actually using the material.

This is separate from the Advertisement Center (AI-generated flyers, auto-posted to Facebook/Instagram). Social Media Flyers are for the WhatsApp Status use case: personal, human-shared, untraceable past the download/share action itself.

Partner API

External systems can now read plans, customers, complaints, and bills over a scoped REST API — without a staff login. Authentication uses two credentials: a public Client ID (permanent, reverse-domain-style, e.g. com.sreebroadband) plus a scoped API key. Either credential alone is not enough.

The API is intentionally narrow. Four scopes exist today: plans:read, customers:read, complaints:read, bills:read. Each returns a curated field list — no photos, coordinates, internal workflow state, or history arrays. The shape is stable even as the internal schema evolves. Full documentation is in PARTNER_API.md.

Push Notifications

Staff now receive system-tray push notifications for complaint assignments and resolutions — reachable even with the app closed, on both Android (via the Capacitor-wrapped native app) and browsers/PWA (via Firebase Cloud Messaging + Web Push).

The implementation deliberately avoids a separate notification service. All pushes route through the existing utils/notify.js choke point — the same one that persists a database record and emits over Socket.IO. A new utils/pushNotify.js call was added there, so every current and future notification type gets push coverage automatically.

Operator-Branded PWA

When a customer or employee visits /login?operator=<slug> and installs the site, the browser's "Add to Home Screen" prompt shows that operator's own name and logo — not the generic Ops365 branding. No separate build, no per-operator release. The web app manifest is generated per-request server-side, and the icons are composited on demand from the operator's own uploaded logo via sharp.

Technical note

The manifest's id and start_url both include ?operator=<slug>, which is what lets Chrome treat each operator's installed app as a genuinely distinct home-screen entry even though they all share one origin.

Fiber Network Tracking

An opt-in module for tracing fiber cuts against a recorded history — control rooms, fiber lines, OTDR readings, and cut incidents with an Open → Investigating → Resolved lifecycle. The key design goal: when a cut happens, a technician should be able to open the affected line's page, see the last known-good baseline reading, and immediately have a reference distance to start from — instead of diagnosing from zero every time.

The map view on the fiber line detail page shows each cut incident's GPS location (when captured) colour-coded by status, so a recurring fault cluster at the same physical point is visible geographically, not just as matching OTDR distances in a table.

What's Next

The short list for Q4: custom domain per operator (each operator can use their own login.theirisp.com instead of om.ops365.in), the ApartmentManagement product reaching general availability, and the first third-party integration consuming the Partner API in production.
